Meetings are public, and we encourage everyone to attend.

About

Located in Hancock County, with a population of 61 as of the 2020 census. The town covers an area of 39.89 square miles (37.76 is land and 2.13 is water). We boast several lakes including Long Pond, King Pond, Rift Pond, Little Pond and our Great Pond. Established in 1981 we have a population density of 1.5 people per square mile.

PUBLIC NOTICE - Budget Review - May 21, 2026 5:00 PM

The Great Pond Select Board will be holding a Special Select Board/Budget Review for the 2025-2026 Town Booklet printing on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 5:00PM in the Great Pond Town Office, 1235 Great Pond Rd, Great Pond, Maine. The public is welcome to attend to listen to the Board discussing items. Public comment time is reserved for the Annual Town Meeting on June 15, 2026.

Salt Shed Location Search

The Select Board is currently trying to locate property in Great Pond to build a salt shed. Please reach out to any member of the Select Board if you know of any property that might be a viable option or are interested in donating property.
